I recently visited Yakitori Boy which is located in the Chinatown section of Philadelphia, and it is definitely a destination to add to your list.
It is a stylish Japanese restaurant that specializes in 'Japas'--which is their version of Tapas-[small plates or appetizers that you can mix and match to make an entire meal]-also known as Yakitori. They have a large variety of things that they grill & skewer, a great selection of Sushi and a few large plates.
The food is very tasty, my personal faves are:
- Shrimp Tempura sushi roll
- Karubi (short rib)
- Chicken Skewer
The twist is, there is also a Karaoke lounge upstairs, and from what I hear you'll have quite the time--[I might jump on the mic next time I go..lol]
Its affordable, its chic, and they have drink specials all night--[such as $4 Sake bombs]
Check them out: http://www.yakitoriboy-japas.com
I highly recommend this restaurant.
